Our Story
How Akowe Began
Akowe was born out of a simple observation: verify-before-transact is an incredibly slow and broken process in Africa. Whether an employer verifying a degree certificate, a property buyer sending funds to a contractor, or a financial service validating a customer's claims, verifying authenticity was slow, manual, and unreliable.
We realized that we couldn't just solve credential forgery in isolation. We needed to solve the fundamental lack of verification structures across various industries.
Today, Akowe is developing an expanding trust ecosystem. Our tools help academic institutions issue instantly verifiable degrees, protect diaspora real estate payments through secure milestone verification, and give individuals a lifetime digital vault for their verified accomplishments.
